2D Art

This artwork is a mix of two-dimensional work done by 5-7th grade students. I use a variety of mediums to engage as many students as possible and allow for choice within each unit. Student work is done both in sketchbooks as well as on larger paper and illustration board/canvas. Middle school students are encouraged to learn new techniques and study historical/contemporary artists to build a visual vocabulary. Creativity and self-expression are valued and modeled and students are encouraged to share parts of their personal stories and identity in their art.
